The High Priestess, also known as the Female Pope and the Goddess Isis (when pictured in some tarot decks wearing the horned crown of that Goddess).
She sits between two pillars that can be seen as the pillars of light and darkness,
often with veils draped between them suggesting the mystery between life and death.
Often her clothing is blue indicating a symbol of virginity.
The High Priestess shows a person of psychic powers,
intuition and hidden knowledge.
She possesses the same skill and ability as the Magician.
Whereas he reveals matters and generates inner power,
the High Priestess is more secretive, drawing upon Universal forces.
She is a tranquil and wise person whose appearance in a reading could indicate a leap forward in our psychic abilities.
We may also expect a secret to be revealed.
Reversed: We can expect delays due to hidden obstacles. We are also warned to be cautious in whom we confide and discreet with our actions and questions.
As this major arcana card is about mystic power, intuition and psychic ability, allow your conscious mind to settle upon your query,
or that of the querant. Listen to your inner voice or unconscious mind, what secrets are being hidden? Ask for revelation from the Universal energies.
Allow the High Priestess to offer her secret knowledge.
