The Chariot Card VII

ruled by Cancer
© Cosmic Deck, published by US Games Systems Inc.

The chariot is a fascinating and complex card. Showing obvious similarities to the Roman Charioteer driving proudly in parade, victorious over difficult odds. On an earthly level it indicates travel, movement generally, and good news.

In many decks there is a white and a black steed - in others two sphinxes - a sign of opposites.

They pull in different directions - the charioteer is faced with staying on course, controlling the wilful, spirited creatures - symbolizing positive and negative forces encountered throughout our lives.

When appearing in a reading this tarot card usually indicates that choices and challenges are to be made. Recognising what we consciously want opposed to what we need, by engaging in battle with our willpower. Do we allow ourselves to be taken off-course or do we listen to our ‘inner voice’ and remain focused towards our goals.

When faced with situations that require us to be diligent, strong and committed, the appearance of the chariot tells us not to be distracted from the path.

If we stay on course, we will be victorious and harness the force of destiny to achieve great things, achieving a renewed feeling of optimism and motivation.

Reversed we are warned that we must not become arrogant and ruthless, allowing the feelings of success to cloud our better judgement. It may result in delays and frustrations with our plans.

Listen to your intuition, seek strength from the Universe to stay on course and you will achieve harmony, fulfilment and greater wisdom
